We are living in a world today, a world with creativity and freedom. It’s a fact the new generation is always on the stage of discovery.

They generally tend to experiment with different stuff. Stats say the rate of birth in kids has risen to two hundred % since the 60′s, and one out of 4 girls gets pregnant at the age of 18 and half it’ll be pregnant by the age of twenty-one.

If this is the case then it becomes mandatory that parents must use caution in training their kids about teenage pregnancy.

So what are the main reason behind teenage pregnancies? One of the key reasons for teenage pregnancy is often because they think the baby will bring changes in their lives like having some buddies or getting nearer to their families and their man. But what they do not know is that having a baby adds more responsibility to their life.

Pregnancy is a life changing event. Elders must tell their kids that pregnancy isn’t just a casual play ; they must condition in their kids that pregnancy isn’t an answer to a difficulty, or should be used as an excuse for rebellion. Pregnancy will change their lives for a lifetime.

There are so many traumatic effects that teenage parents and especially a teenage mother has to go through.

( 1 ) A teenage mother means getting pregnant in her adolescent age. So what’s an adolescent’s age? It is somewhere between 10 and 19 years. Becoming pregnant at this age can be life-endangering. Rates of mortality are 4 times higher for a pregnant teen in the age range of fifteen to nineteen, than for women aged between twenty-five and twenty-nine years. The developing baby is at increased risk too. For girls falling into the age range of ten to fourteen, it is much worse. Should they have live births, the child is probably going to die shortly or face heavy health challenges.

( 2 ) Teenage pregnancy makes it hard for the girl to carry on with her education. The drop-out rate is thus rather high. Even if they come from similar backgrounds, 61% of teenagers wait until the age of twenty to twenty-one to have babies and so complete highschool. Against this are those girls who give birth to kids before they have finished eighteen years old ; only 41% become high college graduates.

( 3 ) Even after giving birth, the young ma finds it tough to stay alongside of her peers where educational performance is concerned. She’s compelled to repeat classes and exhibits poor scoring in standardized tests. In the final analysis she may never graduate .

( 4 ) Finding a regular revenue stream becomes hard as each job position demands certain talents which are visibly lacking because of having no correct education.

( 5 ) Kids born to such young elders frequently display retarded psycho-social development and malnutritional effects. This is as a teen mum lacks parenting abilities. She fails to grasp what her kid wishes and doesn’t realize the seriousness of smiling, touching or verbally talking with her kid. Hate against society is taken out on the kid and physical abuse is attainable.
